In your story who might your main character be?

The main character in my story will be a 14 year old girl who lives on a plantation in south with her 2 brothers and 2 sisters.  This family will have two slave who they treat nice, and when the war is over they realize slavery is wrong and help the slaves up to the north. But the family will remain on the plantation because the kids feel strongly about not leaving their childhood home.

Are there times when it is justified to fight? For what? Can you fight for something without becoming violent? How can you fight peacefully? What would you fight for? How and why?

there are times when it is justified to fight like when you standing up for what you believe in if you believe in something strongly you have every right to fight for what you believe in thats the way the human race works without the ability to express show we feel the world would be so wierd like i cant even describe how wierd that would be we would have no rights basically clones of one another but i think that we souldonly fight for what we believe in and not some nonsense fight i think that that is wrong you can fight without being violent but im not saying that you have to  be  peaceful again its kind  of how the human race works were tough
from when we are young to stand up for what we believe in and to share but what if we strongly believe in not sharing what should we do what we were taught to fight for what we believe in

Do you think that all people should have free will?

I think that all people should have free will, we live in America so we can be free. Free will lets us have a choice in our life and lets us have the ability to take life how we prefer. I don't think that life would be as exciting without it. If all of our choices were already predetermined would that really be considered a choice? No. What if that's how life was, predetermined? That really wouldn't be life would it? No. That's why I think everyone should have free will.

Limitless

"I was blind but now I see." That's what it feels like to be limitless, like you were blind and now you can see. In the new movie limitless, they tell you that humans can only access 20% our brains. But there is a new medication that will let you access all of it. Could you image what it would be like to access all of brain, all the opportunities we could have. Math would be easy, we could do anything we want like speak other languages. A tablet a day and we could be limitless.
With an amazing idea for a movie like limitless it is no surprise that it got 3.5 stars. This movie also made 19 million dollars the first weekend. Limitless is currently number one on the charts. I will be seeing this movie sometime soon, it sounds really cool. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/21/movies/limitless-and-rango-lead-the-way.html?ref=movies

Are all people with blue eyes related?

There has been a lingering question, are all people with blue eyes related? The answer is yes in someways, we are not like brother and sister but a distant cousin maybe. Danish researchers have recently concluded that somewhere in between 6,000-10,000 years ago everyone on the earth had brown eyes. The gene for blue eyes came after a genetic mutation  affecting the OCA2 gene in our chromosomes resulted in the creation of a switch, which literally 'turned off' the ability to produce brown eyes. It didn't really turn it off but rather limits its action to reducing the production of melanin in the iris effectively “diluting” brown eyes to blue. If the OCA2 was completely turned off the production of melanin then we would have no pigment in our eyes, hair and skin, also known as an albino. The OCA2 gene is what controls all pigment in us including hair, skin, and eye color. In the study everyone with blue eyes had this mutation in their OCA2 gene. During the 6,000- 10,000 years ago time period someone had this mutation and passed it on to all of their kids passing it on all the way down to our generation. All people with blue eyes have a single common ancestor, the person who was the first to have the genetic mutation thus originating the blue eye gene.

Can human beings ever be truly equal? What would the would be like if we were?

Equality is something that people dream about, so everyone is equal and there is no competition. But would that be a dream or a nightmare? That would be a nightmare to me; for one that would mean we would lose all our personality. Everything that makes you, you would be gone. It may seem great for everyone to be equal from afar, but if you take a deeper look you begin to notice people can't be themselves all uniqueness is gone. We are supposed to be the land of the free that's why our ancestors came over, so we can be free. But if we were all truly equal we would not be free, we would have to hide who we really are and pretend to be something we are not.

When the Last Leaf Falls

I sense a change in the air
The crisp air rushes down my thoat
It sends a shivery sensation through my body
When I exhale I can see it

There is a rush of joy that fills me
My fingers and toes numb from the cold
Snow lines the ends of my pants
My hair blows from the slight breeze around me

Branches from trees are covered in snow
All animals are absent from view
But they are all there
Shielding themselves from the clod

It is completely silent
But there seems to be no absence in sound
The world is at peace with it's self
When the last leaf falls...

Authors note: This poem is about the last day of fall; when the air around you starts to get cold and snow begins to  fall. I wrote about this time of the year because it's my favorite time of the year. I love it when the leaves begin to fall of the trees and the first snowfall. I think this time of the year is magical; everything can be so quite but yet load at the same time....
